Turf Delivery & Pick-up
Regardless of where you are in Tasmania, Landfall Turf is your one stop shop for all your turf project requirements, including preparation, supply, delivery and laying. No matter your location, our team is committed to helping bring your project to life.
Our turf delivery team can deliver up to six days a week, and we prefer a minimum of two days’ notice from the time an order is placed to the requested delivery date. When placing your order, please advise your preferred delivery date and we’ll be in touch to confirm the delivery day and approximate arrival time.
As the Landfall Turf farm is located in Dilston, Launceston, the Landfall team aims to deliver turf to site within a maximum of 12 hours of it being cut and loaded at the farm. This helps ensure the turf arrives in the best possible condition for delivery and laying.
Actual delivery times can vary, however, deliveries are generally scheduled between 8am and 4pm. We will be in touch early on the morning of delivery to advise the likely arrival time.
Landfall Turf aims to deliver turf without the use of pallets, however, on some occasions turf will be delivered on disposable pallets. In these circumstances, we ask customers to dispose of the pallets as they see fit.
The delivery team will move the turf to and from the truck with the assistance of a forklift or similar and place it at the final location of the customer’s choice, provided there is clear and safe access to the nominated drop-off area.
Customers do not need to be onsite at the time of turf delivery; however, it is preferred. It is important to remember that turf is drying out and heating up from the time it’s packaged at the farm and should be laid at the earliest possible moment.

If you only require a small amount of turf, it can be collected from the farm during business hours, Monday to Friday. For turf collections, we require at least 24 hours’ notice, as all turf is cut to order and needs to be prepared by our team to ensure it is ready upon your arrival.
It is important to ensure your vehicle has the capacity to safely store and transport the turf.
When preparing to collect your own turf, it’s important to keep in mind that;
- Turf is quite heavy, a pallet of turf weighs around 800 kilograms, which is around 40m2. Your vehicle and/or trailer must legally be able to carry this weight. The width of the turf rolls is around 575mm and 800mm in length, which is just under 0.5m2. Typically, each roll weighs around 10kgs depending on water content.
- It’s important that turf is tied down to ensure it is safe and secure before leaving the farm.
- Trailers and ute trays must be at least 5ft wide to allow tractor loading.
- Small amounts of turf will be hand loaded. Our team can assist with hand loading of turf.
